Good evening, this is Mark Campbell, Principal here at Lawrence High School with an important message regarding our school day for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19. Our schedule for this day will impact each grade level block one and block two in the following manner:
Freshmen will be working with their teachers to complete activities that support the intended work of BARR. Breakfast will be served in homeroom.
Sophomores and juniors will be completing the PSAT, the preliminary SAT. The SAT results are still considered for admission to many colleges as well as the State of Maine junior assessment. The PSAT will provide you and your child with a solid understanding of how he or she will do on the SAT as well as provide individually guided practice sessions to prepare for the SAT. Breakfast and a snack will be available in the testing rooms.
Seniors had options for this block of time. We are offering the ASVAB, a career exploration exam, visitation of area businesses and an opportunity to assist a local organization with a task they need completed. Breakfast will be provided in the cafeteria before leaving for their designated location.
This is a normal school day and as it is everyday attendance is important. We will resume our regularly scheduled classes at the end of block 2.
