Parents and students: using the Internet can be an easy and efficient way to gain most of the information that you need to plan your future. Here are some suggestions:
Go to a site that provides tutorials, questionaires, or links to other sites to begin your quest. Sites such as Cyber Guidance Office provide a "jumping off point".
- First, complete a career survey and do a career search.
- Second, search for colleges that offer the major relating to a career that interests you.
- Third, search for scholarships and financial aid to pay for college.
- Fourth, go to individual college sites and view their online course catalogs for courses in your intended major, note their deadlines for applications and financial aid, and search through the student directory for students who are majoring in your interest area in order to email them and ask them questions.
